I pretty much never use references, but I want to expand my art skills moar so I found a great stock photo from *SenshiStock to use [link] I also sketched it out (in red) before putting the black ink lines over it, which I never do traditionally XDD then the coloring... took... HOURS!
I wanted the coloring to be somewhere between simple and detailed.. then I was like.. okay maybe I'll do some extra work on the armor, make it cool and shiny and all.... then I started adding more depth and shadows and crap everywhere else.. and then blue came in o_O Then lazy background is lazy as usual. I meant for it to depict a certain scene, but wasn't sure how the environment should look, so I wanted to just suggest one with minimal colors.

Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactThis will be my first critique let me start off with this
Amazing. Really -you seem like the type the more and more you draw -the better and better you get- its always a treat to see what you are going to post next.
The shading on this is beautiful and the line art is clean yet has a sort of gritty feel to it- which gives it a lot of texture- I think the pose is just great as well- everything is smooth it clearly shows you put a lot of effort and hard work into it.
Also just the background- I like that you kept it simple- I think if you put anything behind her it would have taken away from all the hard work in her armor<img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h…" width="15" height="13" alt="
