Well. Katiebug is a real person, as is her boyfriend. I do have characters based on them, though (see Richard and Kamilah on that Modernized pic). And that's a real situation they're facing... But the pic itself only exists here and on the original paper, which she has. I thought the faintness really added to the feel of the pic, too. ^^ I have a black and white version (also faded) but this one is better. Whether or not he's actually "there" in the pic, well... what do you think?
Originally, there was going to be rain around them, but I was worried that would kill the effect, so I didn't do it. But luckily the paper ended up being slightly wrinked or something, and scanned funny~
Lulz, the only thing that scanned correctly is her stomach..
Well, the lie wasn't in the situation. That's real enough. I can tell. What was the lie is the picture. No matter how much it is based on reality (heck, it could even be a photograph!) it is only a shadow of that that once was. Only its lie.
I did like the faintness.... it kind of gave the feeling that he wasn't really there; that all he was was a specter that came from her mind because she missed him so. And all that's called is dreaming. Dreaming isn't bad, now is it?
Rain... might have changed the tone. It would have made it darker, in my opinion. It would have... been different.

The reason behind it plus how faint her boyfriend looks. All... so real.
But it's a lie, right?

Digging the outfit the female character has on, is that how Katiebug dresses?

It was mostly the scanner's fault, though.
Uhm... Not precisely, but something similar, yes.

Please don't let me fall asleep
'cause the Boogie Man will creep
Through my window in my room
